Things That You Should Know About Fastin

Overweight and obesity remains to be among the biggest health concerns of many people. Dieting and exercise may help shed out excess weight. But still, there are patients who cannot easily lose weight without the help of an effective weight loss drug like phentermine, also popular as Fastin.

What is Fastin?

Fastin is simply a branded phentermine. This phentermine, also known as “phen,” is an appetite suppressant drug under phenethylamine class. It is the contraction of phenyl-teretiary-butylamine and acts similar as a stimulant. Both the generic phen and the branded phentermine are FDA-approved as short-term medications for curing obesity.

Fastin suppresses appetite by reducing hunger. It does this by working on the hypothalamus and stimulating adrenal glands to encourage release of norepinophrine. This is a chemical messenger, a.k.a. neurotransmitter that signals the fight-or-flight response that causes feeling of being full, thus reducing hunger.

This branded phentermine also encourages the release of adrenaline and epinephrine, which breaks down the stored fats in the fat cells. It also increases the amount of burned calories by stimulating use of more body energy.

Who Should and Should Not Use Fastin?

Usually, Fastin is prescribed or recommended for patients who have tried low-calorie diet, exercise, and behavioral change programs for losing weight but never gained satisfying results. Fastin may also be used along with these other programs for losing weight.

Many people who used Fastin and phentermine did not suffer any serious side effects. Doctors are very careful at weighting the risks versus the benefits of this weight loss drug to the patient. So most people will probably feel comfortable taking Fastin for losing weight.

Individuals who should not use Fastin include those who are allergic to phentermine or to any sympathomimetic amine drugs like decongestants, stimulants, and appetite suppressants. Those who suffer from or at high risk of hyperthyroidism, stroke, pulmonary high blood pressure, mental/mood problems, vascular heart diseases, history of drug/alcohol abuse, glaucoma, high blood pressure, diabetes, kidney diseases, high blood pressure, and seizure problems should seriously consult with a doctor before taking Fastin.

Those who are taking certain medications like tricyclic antidepressants, theophylline, phenothiazines, isoniazid, cough medicines, other diet aids, drugs that cause drowsiness and dizziness, drugs for depression, diabetes medicines, high blood pressure drugs, phenothiazines, and other stimulants  should consult a doctor first before using Fastin.

Pregnant women may take Fastin only when seriously needed. Breastfeeding mothers should stop breastfeeding if using this diet pill.

How to Properly Use Fastin?

Improper intake of Fastin may increase side effects and defeat its benefits. Phentermine is ideally taken once per day, one or two hours before or after breakfast. As a safety precaution, it’s recommended to take Fastin at a lower dosage, like 8mg, twice a day, 30 minutes before each major meal. A person may develop insomnia when taking this diet pill at night.

Wholly swallow the capsule or tablet and never crush or chew it. Otherwise, this weight loss drug’s long action will be destroyed, increasing side effects. Fastin is commonly taken only for a two-week or shorter period to avoid tolerance, dependency, and addiction. Side effects and withdrawal symptoms will be more serious with prolonged use of this weight loss drug.

Regular laboratory and medical tests may be performed to monitor the progress and reaction to Fastin. More milligrams of Fastin may be taken but should be limited to only 30mg a day or as prescribed by doctor.

When a dose is missed, take it as soon as remembered but not if it’s near the next dosage. Never double the dose to catch up. Just use the branded phentermine as usual. Also store this in tightly closed container at a room temperature. Fastin is a personal medication that must never be shared with anyone.

Fastin and generic phentermine are very effective diet pills but they should be used properly to avoid any adverse side effects that might outweigh their benefits. So before using Fastin to lose weight, make sure first that you already know the important things about this weight loss drug.
